Hi,

Earlier today I got a message on my computer saying I had corrupted files on my computer upon start up. I let it do its thing and I saw it deleted files from limewire and some other things. Everything seems to be working fine exept for Firefox. When I try to open it up it does absolutely nothing, no alerts or anything. The only thing that happens is the little hour glass thing appears next to my mouse pointer like it typically does. THe only thing I tried was uninstalling Firefox and redownloading it. Any suggestions would be wonderful.

Thanks.

I wonder where did this message come from, and what is that "it" which started deleting files....

Thanks for replying.

I don't know what was going on but it is now working just fine. Sorry for the waste of time.

Hi, I turned on a friend's computer this morning and have been having a similar problem that still isn't resolved. Unlike takemoney9, nothing that I could see had been deleted, but when I tried to go online using the firefox browser I'd see the hourglass for a few seconds, and then nothing would happen.

I am able to go online using IE, and I checked to ensure the firewall wasn't blocking firefox's access.

I went into Application Data>Mozilla Firefox, saved the profile info on a flash drive, then deleted the info from the computer (in case one of the themes or something had been corrupted) and tried to open the browser, still didn't work.

I tried to open in Safe Mode, I saw the hourglass, then received the message that firefox was already open (it wasn't, I checked the task manager, the background running processes, it wasn't down as running) so I restarted the computer.

Then I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox 3.0.6; this time it asked me whether to put it as default browser and/or import settings from IE; when I answered no I saw the hourglass, and then nothing else happened.

I've been trying off and on all day, and it's still happening.
