Hi , i recently just upgraded my rig from a old p5nd2 sli board to a p5q pro, and i got all of it running except for the fact that i got ocz flexs on this board yet cpu-z reads pc2 5300(333mhz) and i ordered

also i noticed when i got the nvidia controle panel running the mother performance , stress test, info, were not there /or just said not reported.


any got any thoughts. Fairly new at this board.

iam assuming the question is why does the PC2 9600 come up as PC2 5300
has only the 2 x 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1200 (PC2 9600) been installed / fitted

If you have more modules installed , but at a slower speed ... the faster memory modules will be limited down to the slower rate

easily said the fast will drop the the slower speed...

but to answere what i think your question would be

" why does the PC2 9600 come up as PC2 5300 "

Taken from the newegg site you have bought your ram from , although your modules are OCZ Flex XLC and this question is in the OCZ Reaper HPC forum the issue is the same...

as stated: "CPU-Z is reading part of the SPD information "

The max bandwidth setting is taken from the highest JEDEC timing table and really has nothing to do with the rated speed of the ram

thanks, that helps, but how i can be sure that i am running at that speed pc2 9600, some people claim i must have dram frq set to 2.1v.

true? or other thoughts?

on the other side i just want to tune this pc , to learn off it and run bf2 at great speed and detail. and other entertain ment values
