Hello G2G its been a while,

This may seem like a stupid question, i need the length and this mobo only has 1 IDE controller connection. Is it possible to take the IDE cable and connect it backwords not the connector them selves but the whole cable. As to use the long end of the cable for a CD drive and the middle connector to a HDD and the short end to mobo???

Thanks in advance.

In theory the two nearest the end go to the devices you want to connect and that's it.
In practice and with modern boards, it probably makes no difference which way round it connects as long as it's connected.
