all Xbox 360 games won't display fullscreen in co-op modes!

I have an LG TV 19" I have the HD settings on my 360 at 1080i - which looks really good =D

However, I am unable to display it fullscreen when playing co-op on the same console, on Call of Duty (4+5) Halo 3, and a host of other games,

Could someone PLEASE tell me what i've done wrong!, is it a screen ratio issue ?
