Desktop Display

I'm sorry because I'm sure this is VERY elementary!

When I start up my laptop, my usual desktop display appears but before everything is loaded, the Dell Home page appears. My provider is orange and I always access the I/net through the orange shortcut , not Inet explorer as I don't THINK this used to work.

A friend borrowed my laptop and I forgot to tell him to start through Orange. From then the DELL home page appears but without tool bar so I can't close and I can't seem to change home page off and using anyother comes ON TOP.

I am hoping that I can attach a picture of how the desktop looks .

Please bear with me as I'm sure I should know how to sort this out!
