When I did a Find of files (*.jpg) on my W98Se portable, I found hundreds of files like those shown attached. The ones i looked at were all trash and useless. What ARE they? Can I safely delete them all? How does one delete all Tempornary Internet Files using Firefox 2? Thanks.

You didn't attach anything so I don't know what you mean.
To clear the cache in FF, Tools>Options>Privacy tab.
In the Private Data section, click Settings and place a check next to the things you want to clear and OK.
If you use the Password manager to have FF remember your passwords, leave that line unchecked in the Settings.
Click the Clear now button and all checked items will be removed.

Those look like Internet Explorer Temp files.
You should be able to clean them out using Internet Options.
Or just open the folder they are in, select all and click delete.
