Hello

OS: Windows XP with service pack 3
Platform: Acer Aspire 5100 AWLMi

Am trying to help my friend set up NETGEAR router DG834G. However, as he has actually broken the disc for the router, I had to abandon the effort. :) However, now we cannot access the internet, as we get an error message 80048869. According to the Microsoft Website it gives the following descriptions of the message:

1: Login unsuccessful
Error Code: 80048869
2: Signing in was unsuccessful because of an error.
Please wait awhile and try again. If the problem persists, contact support
Error Code: 80048869

It appears as if the computer is looking for a signal from NETGEAR and will no longer use the local and Internet ADSL service.

If you can get me a fix for this, it will not only save a friendship, but be a fabulous confirmation of my belief in your group. :)
