Hi everyone

This is my first post, so hope this is in the right section.

I have been having trouble with my hl-dt-st dvd+-rw gwa4164b. It plays cd's and dvd's but when it comes to burning cd's it does not recognise any blank cds or dvds. I have a Dell Dimension 9150.

hope someone can help

cheers

What burning program do you use?
Also, the burning laser may be going out. Burners have two lasers, one for reading, one for burning.

See, if CDBurnerXP: http://cdburnerxp.se/ will burn anything.

Nope it still couldn’t recognise that the cd was in the drive. When I close Roxio the following message comes up:

Mediahub.exe - Application Error, The instruction at "0x00a8ac2f" referenced memory at "0xf8a8adb6". The memory could not be "written". Click on OK to terminate the program

Mediahub.exe - Application Error, The instruction at "0x0075001f" referenced memory at "0x01ac791b". The memory could not be "written". Click on OK to terminate the program

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime error!
Program:...common Files\Sonic Shared\Sonic Central\Main\Mediahub.exe, R6025 -pure virtual function call

I'd assume, you need a new burner. It looks like burning laser is out.
