I am having a consistent problem buring DVD files with NERO 6 obtained from DVD Shrink. Every once and a while, it will successfully burn a disk. But, it will often give me the error below anywhere from 20% to 95% through the disk. ANy ideas? I just got this burner. It is hooked up to my laptop with a BYTECC external case. I am buring at 4X to prevent buffer underrun with memorex 8X DVD +R.

Just ahead of pressing burn, click recording settings and tick determine maximum speed.

You can also adjust the write speed manually here

I tried at 4x, 6x, 8x, they all seem to randomly create errors, but the error is alway the same.

Do you have firmware version 1.40 for the Pioneer

Nero gives me an error and a coaster if I do not tick determine maximum write speed

I will try installing that firmware. I have firmware 1.50, but I noticed on the pioneer website that it was only at 1.40.

It could be worth getting Pioneer's take on it, I saw 1.40 on the site and this should be up to date, where did 1.50 come from
