it was asking if I wanted to keep scanning for malware and I said no to exit.

Yep, now you have the Recovery Console Installed. :)

Just do the following to uninstall ComboFix:

Follow these steps to uninstall Combofix and tools used in the removal of malware
  • Click START then RUN
  • Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK. Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.

There should be no need, you would just boot into the Recovery Console instead. :)
