Internet Not Working

Hi,

Not sure if this is where I post this, but...

A couple days ago I was searching the web and my modem came unplugged and I lost the connection. I plugged it back in and now I can't get the internet to come up. It says "failed connection" on firefox. I called my internet provider and they verified that I'm getting it to my house (my husband was able to connect with his work laptop too). They pinged a website and it came back that the connection timed out. I have Windows XP as an operating system. What do I do?
