Autoplay won't work

Hi, every time I put a cd or dvd into either of my disc drives autoplay does not work at all. I checked on the properties for both drives and it is enabled but it just doesn't work. If I put in a cd/dvd that has something on it like a movie or something I can double click it from my computer but if it is a empty cd/dvd I cannot access it from my computer, I have to open up either windows media player or some other program to burn the cd/dvd.
