Factory Default - Hidden Partition

Most, if not all, Acer computers have a hidden partition with everything it needs to restore it back to factory default. To get to it, power the system all the way down. Restart and while holding down the [Alt] key, keep tapping the [F10] key. After a bit a screen should pop up asking for a Password. The default Password is 6 zeros ("000000"). That's it, follow the onscreen instructions.

Factory Default - Bootable DVD

Boot into Windows. Open the Acer eRecovery Management program. Click the burn disk button at the bottom. Click the create factory default disk button. Insert a blank DVD in the CD/DVD drive when prompted and follow the remaining on screen instructions.

(Note that this will not remove your original hard disk Hidden Partition factory default recovery that you can still run using [Alt]+[F10] or through the Acer eRecovery management utility).

You can now use this Bootable DVD whenever the day comes when you need to replace the harddrive. (*ALL* mechanical hard drives will fail).
