XP Pro not configured for Outlook 2002

My OS is XP Pro 2002, Service Pack 3. When I try to open an Outlook 2002 application file the error message reads "This operating system is not presently configured to run this application." ... followed by a Microsoft error window. Can I configure the OS to run any Outlook application?

you will need to reinstall or repair the application. Do you have the Microsoft office cd available?
