Hi all,

I have recently bought a new Asus laptop (a g50v), but one day i was playing a game(earth 2160) it suddenly crashed and displayed nothing but crazy colors.
After a reboot the colors returned to normal, but then the computer coulden't recognise the graphics card (geforce 9700m), then after another restart i began to get the BSOD problem on every startup, I'm only able to enter windows in safe mode, where i can read the BSOD description:

BCCode: 116
BCP1: FFFFFA800B55A010
BCP2: FFFFFA6002617460
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: 0000000000000002
OS Version: 6_0_6001
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1

I can see that the initial problem was described by another BSOD, namely

BCCode: 117
BCP1: FFFFFA80062414E0
BCP2: FFFFFA6002614460
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: 0000000000000000
OS Version: 6_0_6001
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1

If you need the dump files, just ask, and i will upload them somewhere.

I hope somebody on this forum can help me get rid of this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, thanks for the fast reply.

yes i have tried to use the recovery disc provided by asus to restore the computer to factory standard, when that didn't help, i tried with the newest drivers from the Asus website, which still resulted in the BSOD, and finally i tried with the newest drivers from nvidia. But still to no avail.

As some ASUS users have problems with their "Direct console" and "ATK drivers" I have installed the newest versions of these as well.

Thanks again

PS: I probably won't be ablo to reply the next couple of hours
