The computer I have will not boot up
no matter what I do

I have tried reinstalling Windows Xp....as my cd never gave me the repair option....it starts as if it will reinstall then just stops and nothing else happens after a few screens

I tried the repair function of the computer itself, nothing happens

Question is, How do I know what needs to be replaced? Motherboard or Hard drive etc

any tips or tricks to be able to tell?
