I'm currently using the Intel d945pvs motherboard. I have been looking around for a definitive answer to my question for quite some time now and can't seem to find one. The manufacturer says my motherboard will support Pentium 4, Pentium D, and Celeron D processors but says nothing about Pentium Dual-Core. I want to upgrade to a Dual-Core processor, I'm looking at the Pentium E5200. My question is will my motherboard support this processor since it will support Pentium D which is also dual-core. Please help

Hi there and welcome to the forum :)

According to the Intel CPU support list for that motherboard, you cannot upgrade to that processor. Stick to one listed in that link.

Cheers
