notebook mouse problem

I have an HP Pavilion dv120us NOTEBOOK pc. The mouse button does not work. So I changed it to a left handed mouse, but still does not work properly. Also when I try to open a program, my mouse freezes. If I press alt, cont, and delete, and then juct close the task manager, it works.
