Defender error message

I am receiving an error message on startup that says windows defender unable to start, see help to manually start a service. I tried looking that up and cant find it in the help logs.

Click Start > in the search field type services.msc

Look for Windows Defender and make sure that the service is set to automatic and that it is started.
