Wont start up

I recently purchased a new motherboard and cpu ok so i plug everything in and when i press the power button the fans start up for like 1 second then the system shuts off, the ram led light cuts on for a second but also goes off, ive been using the power supply in my other system and it worked fine i hope its just the power supply wont be as much to replace it any suggestions?

Check the cpu fan is connected to the correct header on the mobo.
Make sure the clear cmos jumper is on pins 1&2

List your system specs cpu, ram, mobo and psu.

List the psu amps on the 12v, 3.3 and 5v rails. This info is usually listed on the psu.
