i'm using windows xp. i can't boot up my pc. it keep showing me message a disk read error occured. how to fix this problem?

Not knowing your computer specs...
The most common is that you are trying to either boot from a non bottable floppy or CD. In other words, if you have a floppy, is there a floppy in the drive?
Next is your bootup set to look at the CD drive and then the hard drive?
If so, is there a non boot cd in the drive?

If those are not the problem, then we have to go deeper.
