O.K., this happened a few days ago. I have two disc drives on my computer and I saw that one of them did not show up on the 'My Computer' panel. I restarted the computer, thinking it to be a bug, but the problem persisted. So I unplugged everything, opened the computer up, checked the wiring, unplugged it, plugged it back in and booted the machine up. And it still does not recognise it! Is there a software install procedure involved, and if there is, could someone please talk me through it? Thank you in advance.
