I cannot access the Internet using Internet Explorer 7 on my home computer.

A friend ran Hijack This and said my best option would be to ask you to review the results.

First of all, you're running TWO antivirus programs: eTrust EZ Antivirus, and McAfee.
One of them has to go.
If you want to remove McAfee, use this tool: http://majorgeeks.co...Tool_d5420.html

Broni:

Will removing McAfee correct the problem or will I need to take additional steps? Also, I am at my work computer. How would I get the remove McAfee tool to my home computer without being able to access the internet?

I don't know, if it's gonna solve your connectivity issue, but removing McAfee would be your first step.
Download the tool on working computer. Use flash drive to move it to "bad" computer.

I removed McAfee and still cannot access the internet. Also, I receive a message that the remaining anti-virus program fails to intialize and a warning message that I have no firewall protection. What do I do now?

First of all, turn Windows firewall on:
Go Start>Control Panel. Double click on the Security Center icon. Click on the Windows Firewall icon beneath the status updates. Click On, then OK.

Secondly, did you use McAfee tool to uninstall it?

Thirdly....

Go Start>Run ("Start search" in Vista).
Type in:
cmd
Click OK (hit Enter in Vista).

At Command Prompt, type in:
ping www.google.com > ping.txt
Hit Enter.

In Window Explorer navigate to:
C:\Documents and Settings\your_name (C:\Users\your_name in Vista)
Double click on ping.txt to open it in Notepad.
Copy all text, and post it in your next reply.

Just want to let you know what has happened. My son set up access through Firefox when he was in town for my daughter's wedding last week. I still cannot use IE7, but that's ok. As long as I can access the Internet through Firefox, I'm good to go.
