Hi there, my pc is really sluggy and slow and seems to be infected with Aurora pop-ups.

Housecall virus check comes up with 10 "non-cleanable" virus's, which are trojans I think.

I use Ad-aware, Spybot, CW-Shredder and Norton but still cant get it to work well!

Go to ‘config’
Go to ‘misc tools’
Press the button ‘open uninstall manager’
In the list find:
Errorguard
Press ‘delete this item’.
Close HijackThis.

Please run Notepad and copy the following text into a new file:

Please reboot to safe mode.

We will disable AntiSpyware as it will prevent us from cleaning up.
Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Click on Tools, Settings.
In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
Under Startup Options uncheck: Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck: Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware.

Run HijackThis. Put a check to this entry:

Close all other programs and click 'fix checked'.

hmm were you able to remove those folders?


Please reboot to safe mode.
If they are still there, try to remove the folders now.

Then let Ewido rerun and save that log.

Reboot the computer and post back here with that log from Ewido.
The HijackThis log is clean, I don't need another one.

Can you open Ewido, check for updates first!
Then close Ewido and reboot to safe mode.

Let Ewido do another scan of the whole computer. Save that log.

That's a good start.

Watch what you click, what you agree to. Don't open e-mail from people you don't know. Don't accept documents you don't expect. In short, be carefull.

Now that you are clean, please follow these simple steps in order to keep your computer clean and secure:

• Use an AntiVirus Software - It is very important that your computer has an anti-virus software running on your machine. This alone can save you a lot of trouble with malware in the future.
  
  See this link for a listing of some online & their stand-alone antivirus programs:

• Update your AntiVirus Software - It is imperitive that you update your Antivirus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your antivirus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.
  
  
• Use a Firewall - I can not stress how important it is that you use a Firewall on your computer. Without a firewall your computer is succeptible to being hacked and taken over. I am very serious about this and see it happen almost every day with my clients. Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly.

• Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly. • Install Spybot - Search and Destroy - Install and download Spybot - Search and Destroy with its TeaTimer option. This will provide realtime spyware & hijacker protection on your computer alongside your virus protection. You should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an antivirus software.
