I have a HP a1630n about two years old, I've been getting the blue screen and I have a hunch my memory might be the culprit. My question is: Can I put 2gb Sticks in the 1gb slots?(it's cheaper and can be used for future upgrades on other computers) It has 4 slots with 4 1gb sticks in it now, and HP website specs it at max 4x1gb, but I'm wondering if there is any exception to this rule- generally or specifically to my board/chip.

MoBo: Asus A8M2N-LA (NodusM3-GL8E)

CPU: Athlon 64 X2-4600+ 2.4 GHz - AM2

Hp a1630n spec link

Thanks!
