My wife and I are having a baby this summer and I am gearing up to by a HD hard drive camcorder. From what I have read, my 5 yr old laptop just won't cut it when trying to upload and edit videos.

Could you guys give some recommendations on what to look for in a system that will be used for video editing? Processer, ram, video card opinions... My company gets a discount with Dell so I'll probably go with them unless something else is alot better for the same price....
