The 1.8GHz Celeron CPU you linked to (in one of your many other topics) is a very basic processor. It's also socket 478, which is all but obsolete - very old technology!

It sounds like you're looking to build your own system - what's your budget? What are your intended uses for this system?

Go ahead and post any parts you're thinking about using, and we'll play around with the parts from there.

Hello Chad

I am not an expert on computer building, far from it actually.

However from the look of things your after an extremely basic computer. I don't have any links to back this up but when your budget is at that range you may be better off getting a cheap computer from a store instead.

But I could be wrong, carrying on. I would think you would need a new PSU as a 550w psu that comes with a case for only $40 cant be to good.

Also you seem to be missing a few necessary parts such as a monitor but I'm going to assume you already have that taken care of.

Perhaps this computer might be more suited to your needs, but you would obviously have to increase your budget to around $300. It does have a slightly slower processor so if speed is very important to you then it might not be the best choice.

Or if your interested in portability instead of power then perhaps this mini laptop might be something worth looking into.

Overall, don't take my suggestions and just run with them. See what Troy and the other geekstogo experts say first. I'm just trying to throw in a few other possibilities for you.
