Please do not provide torrents and / or P2P links as it is against the Terms Of Use (TOU).

Thanks for understanding.

I'm extremely confused over what just happen. The download was going on for about six hours when around 75% it said something about not having enough space on the disk(it was originally 702mb) and stopped downloading completely. nothing would make it start, so I cancelled and tried to deleting the memory already on the cd, and even though it says I've deleted them, the files won't move, and it says "0 bytes free of 702mb, which doesn't even make any sense.

And whenever I try to download ubuntu again, it shows me this.

Where did you download the .iso file to? Don't download it to a CD... store it on your hard disk.
Go here: http://www.gtlib.gat...eleases/jaunty/
Click on the 1st link that says: PC (Intel x86) desktop CD
Download it to your HDD and then use BurnCDCC to burn it to a disc.

Please do not provide torrents and / or P2P links as it is against the Terms Of Use (TOU).

Thanks for understanding.

I am very sorry. I thought this only applied for illegal torrents.

Well that explains it.

Successfully downloaded. Hopefully this will be the end of my five month journey to save my data and my computer.

Gist of what's been going on: CD works perfectly, no problem mounting the drive, but I have lot of data on it and nothing but a 2 GB flash drive, so it's taking a while to transfer everything.

It normally wouldn't have taken me more than a month to download everything, but I had quite a few big distractions. Anyways, I believe I'm ready to reformat it now.

But I'm also clueless on even doing that, so I'd appreciate some help.

Before I start, I'd like to make sure I can use the product key I told you about on the side of the CPU for installing XP, and if there's no chance of a virus or anything remaining on the hard drive. Remember, the day after the computer crashed, my sister's laptop which is shared on the same network crashed as well, in which she ended up going to geek squad and just replacing the hard drive, and that's how I'm able to communicate with you so easily now.
