Currently, I just bought a new Acer PC.

It is a Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2.

Currently has 500 GB HD
3GB RAM
64 Bit OS.

Would like to know if my computer can handle 3GB RAM.

Yes, it can.
You can find a list of limits here: http://msdn.microsof...mits_windows_xp

Scroll up on that page to see limits for Vista.

Just because XP can handle these amounts doesn't mean your motherboard can.

Which model is your Acer PC?
