My Desktop running Xp all the sudden Stops just after my wallpaper loads. I have no system tray or icons, the mouse pointer moves but that's it, What should I try 1st?

try this...Right-click an empty area on the Desktop and select ...Arrange Icons by.....Show Desktop Icons....from the menu that appears.
also...can you move the cursor all the way to the bottom of the screen and then the system tray shows up...
