I have recently discovered that I have a file with no perticular description of the type of file it is. The only thing that is listed as the name is a squigley line and the total size of it is 178kb. Does anybody know if this is some sort of rogue program or is this a legitimate file for Windows XP or something else?

Most likely it is a bad file and should be ok to delete. You may want to run a few scans and post a Hijack this log. The following link is a good place to start.

I've got one of those too, same size, in the application data file. I can't open it. Wonder what it is?
