I get the error message "incorrect function" when trying to access the blank disk in my cd-drive through My Computer or the cmd prompt. I'm not sure if it's because of my virut infection or because I'm in safe mode, but I have two extra cd-drives under My Computer that were not there before and have no physical counterparts.

I would really like to back up some of my files before reformatting. Any ideas?

Slave the hard drive in another computer, or use hard drive enclosure.
