Can a 3.0 800 FSB processor be used in place of a 2.0 533 FSB processor ,,same pin configuration ,,MB states it is for a 400/533 ,,,will the 800 operate properly or even at all,,if not properly than I guess Im stuck with a 2.8 for an upgrade.
Not interested in solutions requiring further purchases,,wife ready to hang me for this as it is :tazz:
Thanks

Check your mobo

You might be able to use it, just set your mobo jumper tab accordingly. Best thing to do is just try it and find out if it boots or not. Good luck.

What's your mobo (brand name?)

That would be helpful. Thanks again and good luck with it

The MB is a SOYO Dragon Platinum SY-P4X400 Dragon ultra.
Seems to be a decent MB has tons of options that I will not use unless I do it by accident .
