Sound Blaster conflict?

I tried to install a Sound blaster X-Fi Xtreme audio board on my ASUS MoBo.
But I can't get any sound out of it even though it is recognized in 'device manager' & sound controls.
No response from creative tech. or their forum.

All connections are correct,
All volume levels are at high with no mutes checked,
The on-board sound is disabled,

I'm now using a Diamond board with no problems.

Any ideas?
