- Select "2. Fix Goored" by typing 2 and pressing Enter.
- Make sure all instances of Firefox are closed at this point.
- Type y at the prompt and press Enter again.
- A log will open, please post the contents of that log in your next reply (it can also be found on your desktop, called GooredLog.txt).

I think the scan is not really working.....lasting a few minutes only.
After typing y and pressing enter, an empty log was opened with the message
CANNOT FIND C:\Documents and Settings\username\\Gooredlog.txt file/folder.Would you like to create a new file or folder. I chose yes.

Ther's an EMPTY folder on desktop called GooredFix Backups. EMPTY??????
This time the generic host problem is back with a vengeance! The whole taskbar becomes greyish white. It stays just like that without turning back to blue! All sounds are out!
I was converting my videos when this happen. Has it got something to do with my video cutter called Free Video Dub which I got from this site?

Please download the OTMoveIt3 by OldTimer.
- Save it to your desktop.
- Please double-click OTMoveIt3.exe to run it. (Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
- Copy the lines in the codebox below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):
:Files C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\4S4AD0FM\msl[1].exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\36.scr :Commands [purity] [emptytemp]
- Return to OTMoveIt3, right click in the "Paste Instructions for Items to be Moved" window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
- Click the red Moveit! button.
- Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar) to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it in your next reply.

I shall now provide you with a big printscreen of this free video dub. This may be the main culprit. sorry, no space for printscreen. overlimit.
Here’s what happened BEFORE I started with OTMoveit3.
This pop up appeared. Please note the frequent change of the alphanumeric nos which is often followed by the same ms[1].exe

After this, I was asked to reboot.
After reboot, an open window with a list of programs popup. I chose notepad and press confirm. GENERIC HOST PROCESS FOR WIN32 SERVICES also popup at this time.
Notepad opens with a logfile (which cannot be found in the MovedFiles Folder.)

This pop up appeared. Please note the frequent change of the alphanumeric nos which is often followed by the same ms[1].exe
Virus or unwanted program 'HEUR/Malware [heuristic]'
detected in file 'C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\ENN93RI3\msl[1].exe.
Action performed: Move file to quarantine

After reboot, an open window with a list of programs popup. I chose notepad and press confirm. GENERIC HOST PROCESS FOR WIN32 SERVICES also popup at this time.
Notepad opens with a logfile (which cannot be found in the MovedFiles Folder.)

Hi legna that is the content of a web page and I can see nothing untoward in that. Lets remove the problematic programme and see what the results are
First ensure that any work you are doing is saved in a location away from the programme files as we need to remove the programme and folders to check.
I have downloaded the programme and scanned it with no indication of a problem so far - next I will install it and see what happens (although I am on Vista)
Please go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following (if present):
Free Video Dub
Reboot
Then play around with your computer - visit sites etc and let me know if you get the alert or generic host errors

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean
A good workman always cleans up after himself so..Run OTListit and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself. MBAM can be uninstalled via control panel add/remove along with ERUNT. But they may be useful tools to keep. For AVZ just delete the folder
We will now confirm that your hidden files are set to that, as some of the tools I use will change that

- Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
- Select the View Tab.
- Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Do not show hidden files and folders.
- Click Yes to confirm.

- Run JavaRa.exe, pick the language of your choice and click Select. Then click Remove Older Versions.

- SpywareBlaster to help prevent spyware from installing in the first place.
- SuperAntispyware Run weekly to keep your system clean

It seems you could read my mind. I would be most grateful if you can help me to look for a flv video cutter . Plus a video joiner would be great!
I need to cut the videos after converting them to .flv extension. It will be great if other formats like avi, mp4 etc are included. I've been looking everywhere but could not find a decent one and I'm afraid that I may end up looking for a freeware that contains more spyware!
I went to the secunia software inspector site which u had directed. But there's some java problem. It says:

JavaRa had erased the previous Java 1.5 version.
It seems that my java program has disappeared...but I can see it in my control panel..
It says system cannot find the registry key specified.HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\1.6.0_06
Is it just an empty icon? Or do I need to redownload? If so, can u send me the link?

Javare should have left the newest version on your system but never mind here is the link for the latest version it is now at 1.6.13. All other versions are a security risk. Latest Java

It depends whether you mean an Antivirus or an Antispyware programme. With Superantispyware you can right click the installation file on you desktop (or wherever you save it ) and select scan with SAS this will scan the file for the most common types of malware. For antivirus I should imagine Avira has the same option I know mine does - although I get mine to scan on download. I will start looking for the programme this eveningCan you recommend a really good scanner besides avira for scanning whatever downloaded programs that are to be installed?

OK for video joiners I have two options the first is free from MS no less
Windows Movie Maker I have this on my Vista system and use it to merge and edit clips for a cd. This definitely works with windows
The other was a freeware one which appears very basic ( to me anyway) Kates Video Joiner
There is also a free avi to FLV converter AVI to FLV converter
And another Converter
