I have done all the things that are reccomended and still cannot delete messages. I only have an "inbox.mbx" file in outlook express. Any more help? Thanks.

In OE, often the inability to delete messages is due to a full or corrupted Deleted Items.dbx file.
As you say you have an Inbox.mbx, I'm guessing you still have OE version 4 or 5. If that's the case, look for Deleted Items.mbx if you can't find the dbx. Deleting that will force OE to create a new one when you next open it.
You might want to install the Windows SP2 Update to bring you up to IE6 and OE6.

I did what you suggested and still can't delete the messages. I still have a deleted items IDX file but it didn't recreate the MDX file. I'm running OE6 and all the latest updates Microsoft has put out. Anything else I can try except removing and reinstalling OE? Thanks, Alex

Does anyone have any more suggestions? I resolved the issue. I deleted the folder I created and then deleted it in the deleted items folder.
