To uninstall Windows Live Messenger, click START, then Run if using Windows XP [operating system]
then [type/copy] the following and press Enter: [it works 100%]
msiexec /x {0AAA9C97-74D4-47CE-B089-0B147EF3553C}

Best of luck anthony19

Thank you again...I have updated profile now as i have had vista for some time now.

I also had troubles with reinstalling WLM 8.5 when i added msgplus and used a-patch to remove ads in it. After doing all this wlm kept crashing. I had to download zapmessenger to remove all traces of previous WLM then reinstall the applications.

Now all is well again.

The new WLM 2009 is terrible i do not like it at all. Why are microsoft going to this bubblegum kids look with windows live, messenger and windows it is aweful
