Your system is not recognizing the file system on the second disk...so it's showing as unallocated.

Is your XP installation disk an OEM or a Retail disk. Can you boot to recovery console with it?

Actually...before we go that route, right click on the unallocated drive and choose "Properties". Under the "Tools" tab, in the Error Checking section, click on the "Check Now" button. Make sure both boxes are selected and click "Start". This may take a while...be patient.

See if the disk is recognized after the disk check completes.

I'm not sure what you mean by boot to recovery console, but if I understand it, I can say I think so. The disk is OEM to the best of my knowledge.
The disk says it is for sale with new PC only.

One problem I seem to be having is that when I installed it on the last two computers, one a laptop, I don't have all the microsoft word anymore. When I first got it, it had all of that when I installed it, so I'm not sure what is going on now.

It looks to me like you started a wipe on your second drive.
The first thing it does is wipe out your partition table.
Leaving it in an unallocated state.
I would aquire data recovery software and scan the drive that shows unallocated space.
Hopefully you'll be able to recover it.

I don't know how much space was used on that drive, so you will most likely need another drive of similiar size to restore the data to.

It doesn't have anything like you say. It has a General tab, a Policies tab, a Volumes tab and a Drivers tab. There is nothing else there.

You won't have that tab if your drive is unallocated.
Just to see the differance, click on the C: drive, you'll see that tab.

Before you even begin, what is your destination going to be.
You do NOT want to make the destination the same as the one you are trying to recover.
