Trouble activating Outlook 2007

I am trying to activate a current copy of outlook 2007. so i purchased a new copy from amazon hoping that i could just use the product key and everything would be fine. but the amazon product key doesn't work. so i installed the amazon product onto my computer. so i should have 2 versions of outlook on the computer but i can only access the one that i cannot activate.

what do i do? i want to preserve all the data i have on the unactivated outlook...
