Please start your own topic as this topic has not had a response since March 23rd 2009 from the original User and Tech that was helping.
Although your issue may seem similar there can be other factors that may need to be resolved.
By bumping on someone's topic it makes it confusing for the tech to understand who they are helping. This can in turn cause the wrong support to be given and can cause instability or worse to happen to your system.
Thank you for your cooperation.

" Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service."

If you get the messege above follow this these steps -

1. Click Start Menu, Click Run... type Services.msc

2. Right Click Windows Modules Installer and select Start (may have to scroll down quite a bit)

Once thats running

3. Click Start Menu, Click Run... type Command

4. Type sfc /scannow and hit enter.

Note: if the Run... command is not on your Start Menu right click on the windows logo (the actual start menu button)
, go to Properties, Click Customise, scroll down until you see Run Command, tick the box and click ok, open the Start Menu and you will have the option available.

I had all these problems mensioned above and this fixed it

I know this is an old thread but it helped me out so I figure this would help others.
