Hi! I don't know what is wrong with my computer. Sometimes, whenever I try to access one of my folders on the computer, it would automatically restart. The same thing also happens whenever I try to access the start menu. It is really getting on my nerves. Though, I can still use firefox, able to play online games, listen to music, etc. So if I stay away from going near a folder, I stay fine. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. Click the Advanced tab (Vista: click Advanced system settings).
3. Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings to open the Startup and Recovery dialog box.
4. Clear the Automatically restart check box, and click OK the necessary number of times.
5. Restart your computer for the settings to take effect.

You may see some BSOD message. Post, what it says.

If you see any .dmp files, zip all of them, and attach zipped file to your next reply.

Yes I ran it overnight, over 100%.

There are a lot of DMP files, the zip is 2.19 MB and the maximum upload size is 500k. What should I do?

The dump file will look like this:
Mini022109-01.dmp
where 022109 is a date: 2/21/09
Zip only files from this month. The number will start with 03

It couldn't fit all from March so I just deleted a few from the earlier dates.

I checked quiet a few dump files, and all of them point to avgmfx86.sys
If you're currently using AVG, I suggest, you totally uninstall it, using AVG Remover: http://www.avg.com/download-tools, and you switch to something else.
AVG simply became troublesome program.
Your options:

If you decide to install Avast, or Avira, make sure, Windows firewall is turned on, or use PC Tools Firewall Plus.
If you decide to install Comodo, make sure, Windows firewall is turned off.

IMPORTANT! Make sure, you use only ONE antivirus, and ONE firewall.

I uninstalled AVG with the AVG Remover, then installed Avira afterward. No crashes so far! Thank you so much!

Though I don't get why sometimes Windows would play several consecutive error sounds, but nothing really happens.

It just crashed again!
That was the only time I crashed today.

You know how sometimes when you get an error, it would play a sound, something like "doung"
It plays that sound like 3 times consecutively. Or is this still confusing?
