I am running windows vista and when I open a folder with video files I get the message that COM surrogate has stopped working. I know that I can turn off the thumbnail view - but I don't want to do this - I really want to be able to see what is in the file. The only thing that I can think that I did before having this problem is install a program called VideoReDo Tv Suite and I really love it and use it all the time. I am not sure if this program is the problem or not. Any ideas on what I should do to fix this?

Thanks

I finally figured it out. I downloaded the codec ffdshow from http://sourceforge.n...ojects/ffdshow/. Once this was done and installed everything is working great. No more error message and I can see the thumbnails.
