I've been having a reoccuring issue with Internet Explorer.

Randomly, while clicking on something, multiple internet explorer browsers will pop up, one after another. They aren't spyware popups, simply multiple internet explorer windows. I stop this is by ending the process in the Task Manager. Is there anyway I can permanently stop this from happening?

Hello shinebindi

Have you tried any different browsers ???

I recommend Firefox

You are only clicking on IE once ???

If your computer lag's and you continue to keep trying to load the browser.. when the computer has the memory to load it , it will load them all one after the other untill they have all loaded ( the amount of times you clicked on the IE Icon )

Best of luck
&
Happy computing

PS: Firefox can be located @ http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

I have Firefox also. I'm just so well adjusted to IE though.

And I only click on the browser once.
This issue happens while I'm surfing the net.
A simple click somewhere on the page sometimes brings up continuous IE browsers.
It seemed like a virus to me, so I scanned my laptop. But there's nothing. No spyware.
I have no clue what the problem is.

With firefox , you have very readily available add-ons you can install very easily

EG: No Script , WOT ( Web of trust ) , No Redirection add-ons ( websites attempting to direct you to another site will be unable to )

Is this happening only on ONE site or multiple sites ???

I would also suggest to head over to the malware forum , Just in case...

What are you using to scan your computer ???

Is it On-access scanner / On-demand scanner , and the name of the scanner would be good also :)

I cannot recommend any scanners to use... as i am not a malware removalist/specialist here and this is not the appropriate forum to do so anyway :) ... Only malware removalist can assist in malware removal...

I recommend you goto http://www.geekstogo...uide-t2852.html

Read through , step by step , save all relavant logs and post a new topic/thread @ http://www.geekstogo...emoval-f37.html

Provide as much information as you are able to... also give them a link to this topic , that is
http://www.geekstogo...ps-t233216.html

Once you get the all clear from them... come back here and we shall continue on , if not resolved by the malware removalist

Best of luck !!!

Well I posted up my results to the malware tests in the Malware section.
No replies.
However, I don't get the popup browsers any more.
Weird.
My problem magically disappeared.
