CD Reweriter Not WORKING!

Recently my cd rewriter has just stopped it does not detect cd's when they ar placed in it and does not run them i am survivin by usin my DVD drive on my computer but could you tell me what the problem is i dont think it could hav broke as i hav not had it that long!!!!!

If it is a phillips it is broke if not the computer might not recognize it. Make sure it is installed properly.

Is the drive recognized in windows "my computer"?
If not is it recognized in bios? If you don't know what bios is don't worry about it just check windows and report back then I will explain more.
