I checked on the system he has and he is running older DDR memory. This will make it harder to find a replacement mb but not impossible.
Thank you cbarnard for your assistance and as always it's great having you double check and give me a second set of eyes.

No problem always offer any suggestions. I would like to see him move up to a newer setup... But not impossible to upgrade old setup... just would cost more money than replacement to new setup

I agree. Thats why I say depending on what emachines says about cost of mobo I think upgrading system and using what he can out of existing system would cost about the same but have a better system in the end. :)
