When booting my computer I have a couple of strange new screens

First I get the American Megatrends screen that is identifying various things and its followed immediately by a screen that asks me to "Select Boot Device or press F4 for defaults"

I dont know what the items in the list are but hitting F4 loads things well enough.

Then when I get to the screen to select which user I am, I click on my name but the password field disappears unless I type the first character at the same time as clicking.

Once I make it through the ordeal everything seems fine.

Whats going on with my machine and how can I keep from selecting boot device every time I log on?

Problem solved.

I stumbled onto the fact that my escape key was stuck and causing all the strange behavior.

Makes sense once you figured it out. :)

Thanks for letting us know the solution.
