Does turning off indexing on your computer speed up start up? if so how do you do it?

Take a look at this article by Artellos. What makes your machine slow? The recommendations can really improve speed and performance.

Also, it talks about indexing at the end of the article. It does help with speed, but it is just a minor tweak.
