Is upgrading from a X2 5400+ to a Phenom2 X4 940 worth doing?

I know that's a pretty subjective question. I now run an AM2 Athlon 64X2 5400+ on an ECS 780GM-A board with 4 gb of Corsair pc-6400 ddr2. Today I was able to update my bios to the latest version. To my surprise, it says the new bios supports AM3! Going through all the sites and reviews, The Phenom 2 X4 940 looks really good. I don't game, do some photo editing and burn some dvd's. Will I notice my computer being faster? Years ago, I remember being disappointed with some supposedly great upgrades. Thanks, any help would be appreciated.
