I am not sure if this is the proper forum to post this. Please let me know.

Here is the problem.

I am running an old version of Eudora. It is version 4.0. Normally everything works fine but every once in a while when I double click on the destop icon my system goes into a reboot. Then after fifteen minutes of disk hits WinPatrol notifies me that a new startup program has been detected. The message includes %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0-K. I click NO and then Scotty indicates it is verifying startups programs. Then I get a message that the system has recovered from a serious error. I have the error signature and error report if you need it copied to a txt file.

Hope you can help.

Thanks

Rick

restart your computer tap f8 untill you get to a menue than scrool up to disable automatic reboot on system failure, then press enter 2 times, then when you get into windows, click on that icon.

The error occurs now upon restart.

This is the error report.

BCCode : 10000050 BCP1 : E5575000 BCP2 : 00000000 BCP3 : 80577AC3
BCP4 : 00000001 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 3_0 Product : 768_1

C:\DOCUME~1\COMPAQ~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER99f2.dir00\Mini040809-01.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\COMPAQ~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER99f2.dir00\sysdata.xml

Sometimes when I run Cleanup this does not occur. Today after logging off and restarting, it occured again.

I am running winpartol and when this happens I check NO when it tells me that a new startup application wants to load.

This is all that I am able to track for now. Today was the first time in days that this has occured.

Thanks in advance for your help.

%systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0-K.

If dumprep is creating a startup entry that means that Windows has encountered an error and needs to dump some dubugging data.

Go to the directory C:\Windows\Minidump
Make sure that hidden files are visible
Zip the files you see there, and attach that to your next reply.

The error you are experiencing is a PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA STOP error.
These errors may be caused by one or more of the following:
Hardware failure (memory, processor, or motherboard).
Anti-virus software that is running on your computer.
Drivers installed by third-party software.

Click on Memtest Instructions in my sig, and follow the instructions.

The dump tells that lbd.sys probably caused this error. If anyone knows anything about lbd.sys, then please chime in.

Thanks

I'll run memtest tonight.

I am not familiar with Adobe Gamma. I know I have Adobe CS installed.

After the last post, I searched around for something on Adobe Gamma. I was not sure where to look before that.

I have Adobe Gamma and Adobe Gamma Loader listed in my startup folder. Hope this helps.

Remove both of them from your startup folder. Adobe Gamma Loader looks like the source of the issue.

OK I went to the startup folder and deleted both shorcuts. Anything else I need to do? I'll reboot and see it this helps.

Thanks and I will let you know. Do I still need to run the memtest?

You can run it if deleting the shortcut doesn't help.
