I tryed to do step 5 it did not work and I tryed rinstalling did not work

How did you establish that step 5 didn't work?

ok I did step 5 but I had to pick the registry editor from a list of programs

So it would seem that all your file associations are gone.

Any idea how that happened?

Click Start > Run > type cmd > OK

In the command prompt type ASSOC .reg Note the space behind ASSOC

Let me know the results.

OK If this doesn't work either, I am going to advise you to do a Repair install.

Open the command prompt again.

Now COPY & PASTE this behind the prompt and hit ENTER

assoc > c:\fileassociations.txt

This will create the file c:\fileassociations.txt

Post the content of that file.

ok I reinstalled windows and it did nothing musicnet is still messed up
